What you’ll need

Hindash begins with a thin layer of primer over the face, then pats a little eye cream beneath the eyes. Let both settle before adding foundation. You want a smooth surface, not a slippery coating. Use your usual moisturizer in place of a separate eye product if that already works for you. The important part is keeping the preparation light enough for the makeup to sit evenly.

2. Build foundation in thin layers
Work a small amount of foundation through a dense brush, then blend it across the face. Hindash adds coverage gradually rather than applying a thick layer at once. Use especially little around the nose and forehead, where excess can be visible. Blend what remains toward the jaw and neck so the edge disappears. Stop when the complexion looks even at a normal mirror distance.

3. Press concealer into targeted areas
For targeted concealer coverage, work on one side at a time so it does not set before blending. Press with a clean damp sponge. For a second layer, put a little product on the back of your hand, pick it up with the sponge and press only where coverage is missing. Hindash also uses the sponge’s remaining product around the nose instead of building another foundation layer there.

4. Set the lighter areas first
Pick up a small amount of a brightening setting powder and press it beneath the eyes, beside the nose, on the chin and along the jaw. Choose a shade that works on your complexion rather than copying the model’s yellow shades exactly. Use the remainder between the brows. Set before contouring so the darker powder does not catch unevenly on wet patches.
5. Add warmth and a soft contour
Sweep a warmer brown around the forehead and high along the cheekbones, blending upward. Use a cooler brown sparingly at the jaw, temples and sides of the nose if you want more definition. Hindash keeps these placements separate: warmth over the face, shadow where he wants to shape it. Blend with a clean brush if the contour begins to look like a stripe.

6. Reuse the face colors on the eyes
For a simple neutral eye makeup look, take the warm shade through the outer corner and crease, then add a deeper brown close to the outer lash line. Carry a little bronze beneath the lower lashes. This repeats the face colors without requiring a separate elaborate eye look. Keep the inner lid lighter and blend the outer edge upward. Finish with mascara rather than adding another dark shadow layer.
7. Press on blush without moving the base
Hindash adds a softly reflective blush after the matte face colors. Tap it over the cheeks instead of scrubbing back and forth, which can move the foundation underneath. Start with a small amount and check both sides before reloading. This touch of color does not need a large extra highlight on top. He keeps the overall finish mostly matte.

8. Blend a lighter lip color into brown liner
Prep the lips lightly, outline and fill them with a brown-nude pencil, then add a lighter lipstick in the center. Use a lip brush to fade the center color outward so the corners retain more depth. Redraw only the portions of liner that need definition. Hindash finishes with setting spray after checking the complete face; follow your spray’s distance and application directions.
