1. Clean the tool and add slip

Wash the tool and apply a face oil or moisturizer that lets it glide without pulling. Tina spreads it across her face, neck and shoulders. Use light pressure throughout. Skip irritated or broken skin, and stop if the massage hurts or leaves bruising.

2. Start at the shoulders

Place the notched edge along the top of one shoulder and glide toward the side of the neck. Add the small finishing wiggle only if comfortable. Lift the tool to reset instead of scraping back and forth. Repeat on the other shoulder while following Tina’s pace.

3. Glide up the sides of the neck

Use the curved edge and a very light touch along the side of the neck toward the jaw, as shown. Repeat on the other side. Keep off the center of the throat and avoid pressing deeply. You can skip the neck entirely and continue to the face.

4. Follow the jaw toward the ear

For a gentle jawline massage, support the chin with two fingers. Rest the notched edge against the jaw and glide outward toward the ear with the tool lying nearly flat. Lift it to return to the starting point. Repeat slowly, then change sides without increasing pressure.

5. Move across the cheeks

For this gua sha cheek technique, switch to the longer edge. Place two fingers beside the nose to hold the skin gently and glide outward across the cheek toward the ear. Add more slip if the tool drags. Repeat on both sides with the same light pressure.

6. Use a lighter touch under the eyes

Support the skin near the inner corner and glide along the bony area below the eye toward the temple. Keep the tool away from the eyeball and use almost no pressure. This step is optional; leave it out if the area feels sensitive.

7. Trace the brow bone

With fingers between the brows for support, slide the notched edge along the brow bone toward the temple. Keep the eye closed and avoid pressing into the eyelid. Lift to reset, then switch sides. Treat this as gentle massage rather than reshaping the brow.

8. Finish upward on the forehead

Use the longer edge to glide upward from above the brow toward the hairline. Work across the forehead with a few slow passes, then wash and dry the tool. The goal is a comfortable massage; it does not change facial bones or remove facial fat.
